Hood Pins

My first post in this website and i hope all of you like it , if not it's okay i will still write , so we together can get some more experience on modifying our rides .

I am not a pro in modifying a car or something with wheels buy some simple mods i believe everyone can do with or without experience.So let's learn together some basic mods for our rides through this website .

I know i should start with something else like rims because that's one of the most popular mods for a beginner , but no i will start with something different like hood pins,and slowly together we will explore more easy fast and cheap mods for our rides .


Hood pins are not your usual mod and mostly you will see them on a race car , or a daily driver that runs on race track .And for sure most of them you will see on a ricer but no we will not become ricers .

What are hood pins ?

lets start what are hood pins , they all a lot of them around , different sizes different designs .Hood pins , is a pin that come frome you car core support through your bonet and thet you lock it .Some have small pins to lock them some have keys it depends on the design .

Why to use hood pins ?

Hood pins will not give you power as much as a ricer will say , mostly they are for safety and for looks .It locks you bonet from flying away at high speed and most race truck have a rule to have it so any hoods will be flying away .

How to install ?

The installation may be tricky to do but even someone that doesn't have experience can do it because of the internet those days, you can see down a very detailed videos of how to do it .And you don't need that much of tools to do it .

You will need :

Drill with a drill bit depends of the size of the pin.

A screwdriver (the screws are included in the box )

A marker or paint to mark the place ( put the pin first then on top put some paint close the hood it will leave a mark to where to drill )

Wrench depend on the size of your pins nut .

Masking Tape (to not ruin or chip your paint )

That's basically the tools you need to do the job , maybe you will need some more depend on the kit you get .

Depending of your car maybe you will need to remove some of the parts like a headlight but mostly not .

Its worth it ?

For the money that you will get the kit i believe it's worth it just because they look good on the car and they do not influence your car performance, just make it look more like a race car . Ofcourse if you have a carbon fiber bonnet that cost a lot you will rething if you will start drilling in to it .
